Start of Chapter 3.  The chapter will start with the drawing of the hydrocarbons.

1) Carbohydrates
2) Proteins
3) Lipids
4) Nucleic Acids

The Electronic Configuration

The class will take notes and work individually drawing elements from the periodic table.  You will be given a chart with different elements and different combination of the following; atomic number, mass number, protons, electrons and neutrons to fill in the missing information.

We will grade the home work, the study of Life worksheets, pages 3 and 4.  Please spend some time write the definition of the words given in class. Read pages 141 -143 and take notes.  The link to the chapter has been posted in Google Classroom.

Remembering 9/11 and those who died and became sick as a result of the events.

I posted the phone number for the Family Support Phone number in Canvas.  Go to Canvas and click on announcements. This number is for students having technical issues.

Vocabulary words will be posted under the vocab tab for Friday's class. Please click on the tab to view the words.  

You will fill out the first of two pages of the Study of Life worksheets. The worksheet will be used as reinforcement for the lessons covered. 

The Zoom information from Thursday will be used for Friday's class. Email at the start of the class if you are having an issue logging on.  

The Scientific Method

We will discuss the scientific method and answer questions on an Experimental Design Diagram.

The link for chapter 1 of the text is posted in Google Classroom. 

Download the experimental design diagram worksheet. The sheet will be used in class today, Thursday, September 10th.

Day 5 Welcome Week. September 4, 2020

If you are logging on for the first time, read through the previous posts.  

Today's Zoom meeting is optional.  It will run from 9:45 - 10:45 and will be for all my classes.  

Again, log into Google Classroom and download the vocabulary worksheet posted there. Be prepared on Tuesday to discuss the scientific language assignment.

A Canvas link has been added.  Once in Canvas, click on announcements the code for Google classroom is saved there.

Scientific Language

Scientific vocabulary is made of root words that are linked to have different meaning.  Learning the root words will help you to understand the meaning of words that would otherwise be difficult.

The sheets with some common prefixes and a few scientific words have been posted in Google classroom. Review and guess the meaning of the words listed.

Remember to write you name on the form for attendance.
