Ecology Project Day 5 Final Day

 

1) Include 2 interesting facts about your biome 

2)National Parks / State Park. List at least two parks, monument , or places of interest in your biome

3) Color in the appropriate area represented by your biome.(Use the map provided.  Also, write in or use the key to select your biome.

4) Advertising sologan- Write an advertising slogan to get people to visit and promote the positive aspects of your biome.

Ecology Project Day 4

For today you will work on Adaptations and Relationships in your biome.

1) Adaptations: Name 2 different organisms in your biome and describe an adaptation that each one has to help it survive in that biome.

2) Competition: Describe 2 examples of competition found in your biome

3) Endangered Species: Describes 1 threatened or endangered species in your biome and explain why it has become threatened or endangered.

Ecology Project Day 3

Create an energy pyramid.
Place each organism into the correct trophic level.  List the names only. No drawing is needed.



 You will construct a Food Web by using the  animals listed. The ecosystem represents a farm area.  The corn is the main source of food for many of the herbivores in the area.   You do not have to draw pictures, you can just use the animal namedand draw arrows between them.

The species to use for this food web are: snake, corn, caterpillar, deer, crow, mouse, cougar, squirrel, micro-oganisms, (decomposers).


From the list above, identify:
1) Producers
2) Primary consumers
3) Tertiary consumers
4) herbivores
5) Carnivores
6) Omnivores
7) What elements are missing from this food web?

Ecology Project Day 2

1) Food chains - create at least 4 food chains that exist in your biome. Each food chain must have at least 3 to 4 organisms.  Make certain your arrow goes from energy source to energy user.

2) Assemble your food chains into a food web.
a) Use different colored pencil for each food chain within the food web.
b) The food web must show all the organisms from your food chains and may include more.
c) Be sure to include the sun and decomposers
d) Draw and name each organism in your food web.
e) Label each species either producer/autotroph, consumer/heterotroph
f) Identify at least 2 symbiotic relationships. (This does not have to be included in the food web)

Ecology Project Day 1

Your project should be booklet size, about the size of a page 8 1/2 by 11 inches.
1) Draw a picture on the cover to represent the biome you have chosen            
2) List and draw 5 abiotic factors on the cover ( include in the biome)                           
3) Draw 10 biotic factors on the cover( they are included in the biome)                        
4) Include a climatograph listing annual rainfall and temperature range.
